About
Born in Landstuhl, Germany to a member of the U.S. Air Force and an Irish expat, Craig had the formative opportunity to extensively travel and experience myriad cultures from an especially young age. Because of his father’s frequent and sometimes year-long temporary duty assignments with the military, Craig’s paternal grandparents were also a prominent fixture throughout his childhood.
With his grandmother on accordion and his grandfather on tenor saxophone, Craig inevitably joined their ensemble, Sentimental Sounds, as alto saxophonist and played live gigs across Western Maryland. This unique upbringing profoundly impacted Craig’s worldview and political outlook.
Drawn to politics early in life, Craig’s first job out of high school was as a field organizer for then-Senator Barack Obama’s first presidential campaign. The experience solidified his interest in the field, and he went on to graduate summa cum laude from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania with a degree in political science.
Along the way, Craig has had the opportunity to work for a member of Congress, study politics in Costa Rica, and run a highly competitive state house campaign in Montgomery County, Maryland. These experiences have continued to expose him to the challenges and flaws inherent in our political systems.
Craig lives with his partner, Teddy, and their two rescue cats, Floyd and Kairi. In his free time, he enjoys “crate digging” for rare, unique, and iconic vinyl records and exploring the city. He is currently seeking the next opportunity to use his experience and skills to help make the world a better place.
